The Silver Clouds Senior Chorus

The chorus has met for rehearsals and performed in programs at the Senior Center since about 1963. The group was started by Clarice Young. Ruth Fisher was the director for the longest time, 20 years. Leroy Bolden was successor to Ruth, and Carol Van Valkenburg was successor to Leroy. The current director is Dr. Tony Buchanan.

The group welcomes new members of all ages. The ability to read music is helpful.

The chorus performs patriotic, seasonal, religious music and songs from the 30's, 40's and 50's.

Claudia Bolden is the accompanist, with occasional flute solos from Marsha Harris, and boogie piano solos by Naida Thomas.

Rehearsals are Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. Rehearsals are suspended from the spring concert in April until October. There are also dress rehearsals on the Saturday or Sunday before a Tuesday performance.

Sentimental Journeys

This group has for many years brought their magic of old and familiar songs to convalescent home and assisted living facilities. They also do sing a longs and musical shows at the Senior Center. They are very busy with 30-40 performances per year. Memebers are Tom Barrow, Nolan Church, Naida Thomas, Al and Ann Lamarti and Marge Hill. Tom's wife Ruth Ann helps out with set up and sound evaluation and sometimes the sing-a-long word projections. To contact the group call Naida at 407 891-0195 or Tom at 407 957-5309.

The Dixie Belles and Dingalings

This is an eight person group that sing country music. They are available to play at assisted living facilities. They rhearse at the Annex on the 2nd and 4thThursdays of each month all year, from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. All are welcome to come to listen. Refreshments are served. Simply Country

Simply Country is a favorite band of the Saturday night line dancers. They have a drummer, guitar/singer, bass guitar/keyboard, guitar and sometimes others. For more information of to book this group call Tom Carroll at 407 957-1891.

Karaoke Effective 6/1/08, Karaoke has been moved to 7:00 PM Wednesday.

Bring your Karaoke CD's and your voice. We provide the machine, microphones, sound systems, and light refreshments. Both group and individual singing depending on the song. We sing most Wednesday nights in "A" hall from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM depending on the stamina of our singers. In the summer we may switch to Wednesdays. Call Richard Cox for details, 407 933-7332.
