Our Facilities

All three buildings are owned and maintained by the City of St. Cloud. Senior activites are organized and run by senior volunteers. The City rents space in the main building and the Annex for non senior activities when no senior activities are scheduled. This arrangement may be unique. The 17th facility is staffed by City employees during normal business hours. Senior Volunteers are also usually present. The shuffleboard club is usually occupied by club members in the morning and during evening card games. The annex is occupied only for club meetings and City uses.

The main building on 17th Street doubles as a Special Needs Evacuation Center. That function takes priority over all others.

The main building houses a 60x80 ft. ball room with a "floating" wooden dance floor, professional sound and light booth system, and a 27x18 ft. stage. The room capacity is 300 in auditorium mode and about 150 for a dinner dance. "B" Hall is a 24x63 ft. room, also with a floating wooden dance floor. B Hall has its own sound system or can import the sound from A hall. B hall is rated for 70 people, and can be divided into two room. The main building also has a library/small meeting room and a computer work room. It houses two city employees, the facilities manager and a clerk who rents city owned boat slips at the Lakefront facility, and who assists residents with their needs at the cemetary. There is a kitchen with professional equipment which is licensed for food service. The kitchen and rest rooms are conveniently located to serve both halls.

The facilities are available for use every day except when the floors are being resurfaced in October and May.

The large murals in the main building are photo copies of art that was originally painted directly on the walls of the old senior center that was demolished in 2003. They depict Florida life pre-settler through about the 1950's. The plaster seams of the old senior center walls can be seen in the photos. A few of the murals are shown here.

The Annex has a single 42 x 30 foot tiled floor meeting room with a kitchen, rest rooms, tables and chairs. It has a piano and an electric organ. It is used by dance clubs, small musical groups, for exercise, mahjongg and for small meetings. Maximum occupancy is 50.

To rent these facilities when they are not being used by seniors call Terri Hurt at 407 957-7298.
